Week 7

1.  Demonstration of the Information Technology Website

2.  Question - "Why do some students fail this course?"

Answer -  not attending!  What is taught in class is more detailed and demonstrated more fully than the Theory & Practical notes provided.  Not attending and hoping to make sense of your notes at a later stage usually results in you not understanding the theory/practical and results in a poor grades for the Assignments
.

3. Things to note:

(a)  Links in Black are not available until a later date (or for earlier weeks when you wasn't attending).

(b)  Links in Blue are Word Documents and require Word to be installed on the computer.

(c)  Links in Red are PDF Documents and require Adobe Reader to be installed on the computer.

4.  This week we will be looking at Presentation Software, namely Microsoft PowerPoint.  The lecturer will be giving you a 20 minute demonstration on: starting Powerpoint, choosing a variety of layouts, adding text (font/size), adding an image (clip Art/Photo), saving your work.  Alternatively please click on your choice/s of Powerpoint tutorials, in Links below.  Make appropriate notes, or print off copies.  Afterwards complete the Practical Work 1.  Save this work on a USB (memory stick).

5.  You will be using what you learn in your demonstrations within a Practical exercise, click on PP1.Pdf  to get details of that exercise          PP1.Pdf

Note: this exercise does NOT count for any Assignment, it meerly gives you an opportunity to practice with the help of the lecturer.  Once you start the PowerPoint/Word Assignment, the lecturer can not give you any help without you losing marks.

Reminder - links in Red have the .Pdf extension and are PDF Documents.  They require Adobe Reader to be installed on your computer.  College computers already have this installed.  To download the Adobe Reader for your home computer (if you don't have Adobe Reader installed):     CLICK HERE.
