to examples of Best Practice in the Workplace are shown below.
Remember you are being marked on your technical ability, so there
are some exceptions to this Best Practice. For example, you are
being asked to provide different examples of Backgrounds when in
practice you might stick to one background throughout the Presentation.
It is best to follow the guidelines of the Assignment
instructions.
Please read the website carefully, particularly the Assignment page.
Module Assessment
There
are three Assignments. All must be attempted. If you do not
hand in one or more, it will be considered a failure
and that Assignment will
have to be taken again - even if you obtained the Pass mark with the
other two Assignments. You can do very poorly in one or more
Assignments and still pass, as long as you handed them in and obtained
40% or more from all three Assignments.
Practical
Assessment 1 @ 20% (PowerPoint).
Practical
Assessment 2 @ 40% (Word). Practical
Assessment 3 @ 40% (Excel).
To PASS this module you need to achieve an overall pass (40%) and handed in all three Assignments.
All Assignments must be handed-in by the deadlines given. There are no
extensions to the deadlines without medical certificates, or good reasons.
You can complete this work in class, plus you can also use the Open Access Centre and/or at home. However it must be your
work. If the Examiner is not completely satisfied that it is
your
work, or if you have been absent from class in the designated class hours for the Assignment. He
will
ask the student to attend a meeting, so that the student can verbally explain
/ demonstrate aspects of his/her Assignments. If the student is unable
to
explain / demonstrate all aspects of the work satisfactory, it may not be marked. There
is NO
end of semester written examinations.
All work is based on
continual practical assignments. Work must be saved and sent
to the lecturer by the stated deadlines. This
will be stated in each assignment brief. The
lecturer will always acknowledge receipt of your work. If
this
doesn't happen within 3 days - contact the lecturer.
Always
keep a copy of your work in case of technical difficulties, or lost
work.
The
assignments can only be submitted once (no
further revisions). and they
will close at the stated time and date. Students not getting
the required pass mark based on all three assignments and/or not handing in an Assignment will be required
to
produce further practical assessments at a later date.
Important
Note
There
are 2 hours of practicals per week and students would
be
expected to dedicate further time, outside of class timetabled hours, in order to complete tasks.
